I was never "bullied" in school. Sure I was picked on a little bit for some bad choices but I was never bullied.
But I sure did take and give a lot of ass whoopins because of bullies.
I hated bullies so much. I still do.
If I saw a friend being bullied I stepped in.
If I saw a stranger being bullied I stepped in.
I had a lot of enemies but they were the primary bullies.
They hated me because I stopped them from harassing others.
In schools across the country and across the ages there has always been bullies.
It sucks but its true.
Even worse now because so many young people are opening up with their sexuality. With their own styles. With their own habits and such. That opens them up for constant attack.
Now here is where it gets touchy.
If you were to look at why those kids find it so important to bully others. Especially the openly homosexual you might find some interesting things.
Are their parents the cause? They must take responsibility either way.
Do their parents condone this kind of act? If they do then they should be made responsible.
Do their parents try to defend the kid that is bullying? If they do then they should be made to suffer consequences.
Why do the educating staff not do anything about it?
Why are the bullies allowed to get away with this sort of behavior?
Why hasn't there been a law passed that:
Made the staff responsible for policing the school
Make it a hate crime just like it is for adults
Makes it a punishable offense for the parents of the bully.
If the children do not feel safe in school where CAN they feel safe?
Now..getting the child to admit being bullied may be hard for fear of reprisal. Making sure they know that something WILL be done is so very important that to know they have a escape through the school staff they would be more likely to ask for help. As it is now too many just try and deal with it and either suicide, show up with a gun and kill everyone, act up to be kicked out or drop out of school altogether.
None of those are acceptable! NONE!
Just because a kid is homosexual, transgender (which I have a whole other issue with) or just different... does NOT mean they are wrong. They are not. If they aren't like you or your friend or what you are told someone should be...doesn't mean that they are wrong.
When I was in highschool it was so much bigger. So many more people. I couldn't always be there to defend my friends. Or anyone else when they needed someone to step in. I hated it because I would see my friends after school and one or two would just be wound up. Yeah I would pounce on the offender but then...doesn't that make me like them?
A friend committed suicide. That made me feel like a failure and it made me miserable knowing that he wouldn't grow up and experience the world. Find love, have a family or see the rest of the world. And he wouldn't be my friend any more.
I was on the football team and then left the team when I found out that it was THEM that picked on bullied and generally made his life miserable everyday. I couldn't be on a team that did that and back then...you were shunned by the whole school if you complained. And if it was their sports teams doing it...then you had no where to go...
We need to make a petition. Make it for new laws. Just because they cant defend them selves doesn't mean they cant have a voice. let us be their voice.
I will post info when I see about what I need to do for this petition. If you know where I should start please point me in that direction.
