I have read so many thing about how hard it is being a woman.'
About the trials and tribulations of being a woman.
About the awesomeness of being a woman.
Don't think I have read anything about how hard it is being a man.
Not once.
Not because it is easy. Or great, or how magnificent it is.
Because for the most part we don't need to complain about it.
or brag about it.
We just do it.
Why?
Because as men we are expected to just do the right thing
work hard for our family
accept all of it's bounty and all of it's lacking
Be satisfied with a woman that takes care of the babies you help make
Satisfied with the home you are providing with your hard work, blood, sweat and tears.
For them.
For the woman.
Being a man means you don't cry when you are hurt.
You don't complain when someone takes from you, you just get it back or get another.
Being a man means you will give up the best of something so that woman can have it.
Being a man means going out of your way to do something nice...and not expecting to be praised for it. it's just whats expected of you.
Men don't need to be praised because all the things others ask gratitude for men are expected to give it freely with out exception to their wife and children.
Why don't men have pages of pictures and phrases praising us or have us complaining?
Because we don't need to.
We just do whats expected of us and hope it's enough that we aren't looked down upon.
We do it because we are expected to.
We do it because in society real men are strong and don't ever need help and are expected to just suck it up and carry on.
That's what men do.
So while all of those cute fancy social pages have hordes of creative people writing things about "It's tough being a woman because..." or women are awesome because" there are men that look at that and say, You have no idea" and then run out to the store because the woman asks him too.
In the middle of him watching his sports game.
BUT
Don't let him raise his needs, don't let him say, "What about me?"
Don't let him ask when it's his turn
Or when he can have to best of something
Or if he can just be pampered
Or if he can have a decent back rub and not a 15 second rub and then nothing.
Or be allowed to tell the truth when the stupid questions are asked
Or be honest when asked if "this is a good idea right?"
Or if he can just be selfish for once.
He will be ridiculed, looked bad upon, questioned as to his REAL agenda, thought of as a fairy, expected to say, "Just kidding dear, of course I will ignore my needs, wants or desires"
A man has to be a man no matter how hard or how how much it hurts.
And when he has had enough a REAL man wont use violence, he will just set the thermostat to 70 and then rip it off the wall.
